'A Seed Planted Gently' Edition Print by LA-based Artist Giorgiko

Inspired by the crucifixion of Christ, “A Seed Planted Gently” depicts those who witness the death of the Seed of Peace and explores their various responses. In the Biblical account, Christ did not resist those who put Him to death, but instead allowed Himself to be like a lamb led quietly to the slaughter in order to bring peace to many. This willing self-sacrifice is likened to a single seed, which falls to the ground and dies to produce new life.

In this serigraph, many characters sit upon a hill gazing at the death of the Seed. They hold the tension of opposing emotions: awe and indifference, devotion and denial, grief and hope. The characters ask themselves: is this death a tragedy, a spectacle, or salvation?
